"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is seeking dismissal of a lawsuit by her former lawyer who claims the young singer and actress owes him 150,000 dollars, court documents showed Thursday.
Los Angeles lawyer Brian Schall filed the lawsuit last month against the 18 year-old Hudgens, alleging breach of contract and unjust enrichment by the star, who has become hot among American teenagers after playing a high school singer in the Disney Channel' s popular television movie and its sequel.
Hudgens is asking the court to dismiss the suit by arguing that she was only 16 when she signed a contract with the lawyer. A hearing on Hudgens' dismissal motion is set for Dec. 5 by the court.
Schall and Hudgens entered a contract in October 2005, and he advanced costs and expenses on her behalf in connection with her songwriting and recording career, according to court documents.
Schall says he drafted contracts for Hudgens that have helped her earn more than 5 million dollars, and Hudgens paid some of the money, but still owes him 150,000 dollars.
But court papers filed this week by Hudgens' lawyer say that California state Family Code "provides that the contract of a minor is voidable and may be disaffirmed before age 18 or within a reasonable time afterward." Hudgens earlier officially disaffirmed the contract.
Hudgens' court papers additionally state that she actually had an agreement with the law offices of Schall, but not with Schall as an individual.
Hudgens hired the Schall firm in October 2005 on representations by its attorneys that they were skilled in entertainment law, but she determined in the middle of this year that the services were "blow professional standards, resulting in a breakdown of their relationship," according to her court papers.

L.A. high school musical star seeks lawsuit dismissal
Vanessa Hudgens: I got attacked
Vanessa Hudgens claims she was attacked last week, not Zac Efron.
The 'High School Musical' stars - who are enjoying an off-screen romance - were leaving London's Apollo theatre last Wednesday when a man in his 40s pushed past security to approach the pair.
Although it had been reported he lunged for Zac, 20, his 19-year-old girlfriend insists the unnamed man cut her face.
She told US TV show 'Access Hollywood': "I actually got hit in the face! If anything, I was the one who got attacked, not Zac.
"There was a guy who was walking down the street and I think he was a little drunk and he got pushed into the craziness of it all. He was blocking the door so our bodyguard had to push him aside.
"I looked in the mirror and got a huge scratch and I was bleeding."
Zac has revealed he wasn't even aware of the attack until they returned to their waiting car.
He said: "I just heard about it. I was just focused on the van door - I've got to get to it. I got in the van and we drove away. I don't remember getting harassed."

Teenage Disney star apologizes for posing nude
Vanessa Hudgens, star of the Walt Disney Company's hugely lucrative "High School Musical" films, has apologized to fans for the nude pictures of hers that are being splashed on the Internet, media reports said Tuesday.
The raunchy pictures depict the 18-year-old posing in various states of undress, including completely naked. In a statement issued recently, Hudgens asked for forgiveness from her fans, and said that the situation has left her embarrassed.
"I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends," the 18-year-old star said Friday.
"High School Musical" is Walt Disney Company's most successful show over the last two years generating profits to the tune of 1 billion U.S. dollars.
Just to make things more difficult, the photograph was allegedly taken by Zac Efron, Hudgens's 19-year-old boyfriend, and her co-star on the show. Together, the couple are by far the biggest "tween" stars in America, frequently appearing on the covers of celebrity magazines.
All this has left Walt Disney company with an impossible dilemma. If it supports Hudgens, will more nude pictures, some more explicit than the first, later emerge? And if it dumps Hudgens, will fans dump the show?
So far, the company has chosen to back Hudgens, for fear of meddling with a proven formula, thus forcing parents across the United States to have to explain to their children why their teen idol had disappeared from the screen.
The release of the images could pose trouble for Hudgens, who is currently in negotiations for a third "High School Musical" film.
And sources are claiming that the film's production house may have second thoughts about casting her in the light of the notorious episode. However, Hudgens' representative Jill Fritzo insists that all rumours that the singer-actress has been kicked out from future productions are untrue.

Vanessa Hudgens splits with boyfriend after nude scandal
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has split with her boyfriend and co-star Zac Efron, and is considering posing for a men's magazine - according to reports.
Hudgens, who was involved in a nude photo scandal earlier this month, split with boyfriend Efron while he was overseas, OK! magazine reported.
The mag said Hudgens was seen with another man at a Hollywood Hills party while Efron was in Australia to promote the movie Hairspray.
Eyewitesses told OK! magazine that Hudgens was "all over" her older date, and when someone asked her about Efron she "threw a fit".
Meanwhile, the Starpulse entertainment blog reported Hudgens is considering posing for a men's magazine - but has ruled out a spread in Playboy.
"I think being a woman and being able to show a sexy side is empowering," Starpulse reported Hudgens as saying.
"Being able to show we are comfortable in our skin is a good thing. I totally would pose for a sexy magazine. But not Playboy."
Earlier this month, a nude photo of Hudgens circulated widely on the internet.
Hudgens said she was "embarrassed" and regretted ever having taken the photos.
It is not yet known who leaked the photos.

Vanessa Hudgens: I love dressing up
Vanessa Hudgens - Denied rumour friction with Ashley Tisdale
Vanessa added: "We are just really close and get along so well. The two of us together are just hysterical - we come up with the most random, silly things.
"We don't fight and it's annoying because people are always comparing us. They need to understand that we are just best friends."
Vanessa Hudgens also loves dressing up for the paparazzi. She likes experimenting with fashion to entertain the photographers who follow Vanessa' around.
Hudgens said: "I have some of the clothes that my character Gabriella wears in the movie in my actual closet. I'd be like, 'Wow, I have to have that!' I love fashion. Having paparazzi there is almost an excuse to dress up, but if I'm not in the mood I'll just go out in sweats and Ugg boots."

Vanessa Hudgens & friends N_de Photos Scandals Resurrected
So if reading about Vanessa Hudgens or Miley Cyrus or Adrienne Bailon or anybody else getting n_ked (or tracking down n_de and semi- n_de photos) is the way you want to spend the day, so be it.
Vanessa Hudgens N_de Photo Scandal
Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus photos scandals are topping or near the top. Maxim magazine jokingly stated that Vanessa Hudgens' n_de photo scandal was the only reason they even knew about "High School Musical," but found the young Disney star such a multicultural attraction that they named her to their Young Hot Hollywood 2009 list.
Vanessa Hudgens' n_de photo scandal nearly cost Vanessa' the starring role in the upcoming "High School Musical 3." She had taken a picture of herself n_de in a mirror and - Hudgens thought - sent the picture to Hudgens' boyfriend, "High School Musical" co-star Zac Efron. Instead, it went to someone else and was uploaded onto the internet and the n_de Vanessa Hudgens went worldwide in a matter of hours. After apologizing to her fans and Disney, Hudgens still landed the lead role in "High School Musical 3."
Wow.

Vanessa Hudgens is a bad person?!
I don't think Vanessa Hudgens is a bad person...Just her actions.... She seems quite friendly and nice actually.
Children shouldn't look up to any celeb. Celebrities like Hudgens have different lives than kids. Regular children wake up, go to school, come home and go to sleep. Their lives are completely different. Celebrities like Vanessa make millions of dollars and are famous & popular. Not every kids is liked and popular but if they have a celeb role model it might lead them to think that they too should be liked.....
I think Vanessa is ok....
She isn't that bad....
and anyways, if kids didn't see Vanessa' photos - it didn't affect them...
I am sure in the long run - a lot of celebrities take these kinds of photos.... good or bad. Nobody is perfect.
and Vanessa Hudgens apologized sincerely.

Vanessa Hudgens - Lakers Lovin’ with Zac Efron
Both of them doted on one another throughout an intense game which saw the Lakers beat the visiting NY Knicks 116-114, afterwards making their way to the car, with Vanessa Hudgens giggling as fans barraged the two with autograph requests.
Meanwhile, it appears as if Zac Efron got a little advice from Leonardo DiCaprio during a previous visit to a Lakers game.
Of sitting next to the Zac courtside, Leonardo DiCaprio told “I went with my friend Kevin [Connolly] and [Zac] happened to sit next to me—we briefly chatted.”
DiCaprio' advice to Zac? “The flashbulbs, the interviews, all that stuff won’t amount to anything unless you create a body of work that people want to see,” Leo tells.

Vanessa Hudgens Was Home Schooled
For Hudgens, saying goodbye to the High School Musical films was harder than she expected. Not only was she leaving behind a job that she loved, but she also was moving on from the only high school experience she had ever known. "The last day [of filming] was just too many tears,'' Vanessa admitted. "We actually couldn't get back to filming because Kenny made this announcement, and the hair and makeup [people] were saying: we can't get makeup on them because they won't stop crying.''
Vanessa Hudgens isn't quite done playing a high school student just yet. Up next for Vanessa is the 2009 film Bandslam, in which she plays a popular student who teams up with a social outcast to form a band and compete in a school competition.
Reflects on Vanessa Hudgens' positives
"I am a happy person," Vanessa Hudgens says as she settles in to talk about the recent movie. The feature film is the end of a three-year journey that has made the 19-year-old Salinas, Calif., native a superstar. Her face is as well known as fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus or any one of the Jonas Brothers.
Vanessa Hudgens's got plenty of reasons to be happy. Hudgens' role as the very positive Gabriella Montez in the three films gave her a chance to do the things she loves to do: act, sing, dance. She even found romance with her leading man, Zac Efron.
That romance has not been all smiles. Tabloids and Web sites printed nude photos Hudgens had sent to Efron. That's the kind of stuff that makes Mickey Mouse blush.
Mostly, though, it has all been good. Hudgens began acting at such an early age that she was home-schooled. No traditional high-school experience for her. No prom. No graduation line.
No problem.
"That is just another reason why High School Musical means so much for me. I got to go to my prom for the first time, but it was a lot better. I got to have the prom every girl wishes they have," Hudgens says of the prom sequence in the feature film. "I got to wear a cap and gown for the first time and graduate with people who I love dearly, cast members who have become my dearest friends."
Positive, positive and more positive. That's Hudgens.
Well, there is a moment when that winning smile fades just a tad when asked about the waltz number she and Efron perform in the movie. It was a dance number that took lots of rehearsals.
She thought director/choreographer Kenny Ortega was joking when he told her about the dance. Once she realized it wasn't a joke, Hudgens took a positive approach to the number. It turned out to be one of her favorite parts of the movie.
She would do anything for High School Musical. That's because she was drawn from the first audition to the opportunity to play such a positive Latino character.
"It wasn't the stereotypical leading lady. The fact that she is Hispanic was something that I found really interesting. She is this strong, positive young woman who is always fighting for the right thing. I am very proud to be part of it. I feel there are not that many people [who] can represent for a different ethnicity," Hudgens says. "It really is an honor."
